The Inky Black Cat

WHATWALT :To use descriptive language in our writing.
The Inky Black Cat

In the inky blackness of the shadows, she blended in perfectly. Her saucer-like eyes and sleek whiskers were all that could be seen.

She was deliberately hiding; her colour and keen sight were her greatest allies. What she had glimpsed at the other side of the candlelit room was troubling, and arching her back, she prepared to move in an instant.

She sprung high around the room to the table where the candlelit, she crouched then stopped, before she blew. She peered at the candle, the candle moved away as she blew “tick tock tick tock ring ring” the phone went, she suddenly was distracted. She looked confused, puzzled. She sensed a smell it was smoke, she had now remembered about the candle.

As she looked around anxiously she now took control of everything, her eyes hooked the candle. She sprung up onto the chandelier, the wind was pushing against her. She was only a couple of feet away. As there was a sudden shadow at the window.

It was the shape of a cat standing, it walked forward a few steps then stopped. It was a tan colour with Knobby knees, then suddenly out of nowhere it jumped through the miniature gap it was a Meerkat.

When it leaped in, the air turned like a wave pool and the candle was gone. Apparently the Meerkat was frightened by something.

The cat was interested she leaped onto the ledge of the window and there she saw a scarecrow, a raged one, but right at that point the next door neighbor had found her and took her back home to care for her.

Moments in time

I heard the tyre creeking as the currant pulled us across .

I saw the hills be pulled towards us as me and my siblings had excitement on our faces.

I felt anxious, frustrated and stressed.

I wondered if we would be doing this forever Or is this my life sitting in a tube.

Campylobacter

Campylobacter

-Wk 3 Friday unwell
-Wk4 Monday 360 people absent
-Closed Tuesday to Friday

On Monday lots of kids felt unwell because the water was unsafe and had bad things in it. On Monday there was an email saying for the kids not to drink out of the fountain but nobody knew about it. Everyone  was frightened about it but schools were giving the kids bottled water .Most of the kids had to go to the sick bay.

On week 4 nearly half the school was away with kids going home during the school day too. Teachers were sick to and that's when we found out that the water was positive for E-Coli which is moss and animals business. Havelock North High school, Lucknow, Havelock North Intermediate, Havelock North primary, Woodford and Iona and Te Mata School all have unsafe tanks and were handed out bottled water.

The next day there was a email sent out saying there was no school for the next two days since the water still wasn't right. My sister also had no school. On the email it said they would take another test and get back to us. The next day they said it still wasn't right so we got two more days off.

In those free days I went up to the farm and helped my mum. We had to move the lambs on foot which was a bit difficult and then we had to feed the fottobeet to the Bulls. That was really all we did.

Goal setting sheet.

Writing

These are also displayed in your writing books. This is your personal goal based on your own writing.
Use sophisticated language features to make my writing more interesting to the reader.

Maths
This is a number knowledge goal. Looking at your test data and set a goal you can work on using the number knowledge wall homework each week.
To slowly progress by making the knowledge wall tests differently and finding easier ways to solve the problem.

Fitness
We have a baseline fitness test that you can use to set yourself a realistic next goal. Think about the test and what you think you can achieve.
My goal is to change 7.1 to 8.1.

What are the things you can do to help achieve your goal? (fitness plans, what is going to suit best to achieve your goal)
To train hard through the Hockey season to get fit and start doing more Tennis. We will also design a class fitness program to help achieve our goals.

Collaboration
We have been working hard on working together to ensure we work with the best people for the best activities. Thinking about this set yourself a collaboration goal for term 2.
To be able to work as a group easily. To change who I work with each week instead of working with the same people.

How will you measure this to see if you have achieved your goal?
I will make tracking sheets to see the people I have been working with.

My Dream Holiday

WHATWALT:Using deliberate planning to develop our story planning .
WHYWALT:Good planning makes writing easy.

Bordeaux,France
My Dream Holiday
It was 5:00 in the morning and my flight to Bordeaux was at 6:00 so I had to hurry. I packed all of my gear in a rush. I blasted to the airport just before I missed the plane. I gave my ticket to the flight attendant. The next 24 hours we got of the  plane . My Aunty Annabelle picked me up at the airport and dropped me at the house. I got all of my bags out of the car so I could get my travel journal and write my list. I  heard that the was wind tunnel was really amazing so I had to try.

As soon as I got to the place they told me all the things to be safe and how to properly do it. The instructor gave me the suit so I could get dressed I came out of the dressing room so I could get harnessed up. When I went into the room I saw a massive glass hexagon that went right to the ceiling, at the bottom there was one big fan. I jumped inside and up I went into the air it was so amazing but then there was always the time I had to get down. In the wind tunnel it felt like I was being kept up by seagulls. I got a bus home. I checked the next thing on my list and it was waterskiing and jetskiing.

I had tried waterskiing a little bit but hardly ever.I was desperate to go jetskiing. It was very quick getting ready. Before you know it I was waterskiing easy but then came jetsking. At first I got up and was on the ski for 40m but then I fell off. It was time to go home, after that I was super tired.

In the morning next was Horseback riding. I wasn’t scared at all  because I do quite a bit of it at the farm. I had done a lot of it at home because my dad plays Polo. We could go wherever we wanted and so I decided to go to the beach with the horse they had given me. I got to the beach and my horse Nellie wanted to go for a swim so we both did. It was freezing cold but it was worth it.

I did my last little things that I wanted to do,they were kayaking,Canoeing,Surfing and Kitesurfing after that I had done everything I wanted to.

Soon I was on the Plane back to the New Zealand. It was a long flight back but I finally got there. I picked up my car and I went home. Toodaloo.
